Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026
This policy explains how Burak Simsek handles information for the portfolio and Security+ Structured Learning Course available at buraks.net and buraksimsek.com.
Information used for course accounts
When you choose Sign in with Google, Google supplies basic identity information, including a unique account identifier, your display name, and your email address and its verification status. The current course service stores your Google account identifier and display name. It checks the email verification status to complete sign-in. It does not receive your Google password or request access to your Gmail messages, Drive files, or contacts.
We store lesson completion status, reading percentages, your last visited lesson, selected course language, and related timestamps. These records let you resume learning across languages and devices when you sign in with the same Google account. Account records are held in the site's Hostinger database, not in your Google Drive.
Cookies and technical information
The course uses a necessary session cookie to keep you signed in and protect account requests. Sessions expire after up to 24 hours and are cleared when you sign out. The two domains use separate session cookies while sharing the course account database. Earlier versions of the course may have stored progress in your browser's local storage; those records are not automatically imported into an account.
Hosting and content delivery providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, requested URLs and browser details to deliver and protect the website. Pages that load Google Fonts or resources from external services make requests to those providers. Following external links subjects your visit to the relevant provider's own policies.
Purpose and service providers
Information is used to authenticate you, operate the course, save your progress, respond to requests and maintain service security. Google provides authentication, and Hostinger provides hosting and database infrastructure. Authorized administration may require access to account records. We do not sell course account data or use Google account information for advertising.
Storage and your choices
Progress remains stored when you sign out so you can resume later. Contact us to request access, correction, export or deletion of your course account and progress. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account. Necessary security records and backup copies may remain for their applicable retention periods. Removing access in your Google account stops future authorization but does not by itself delete records already stored by this course.
You can manage the site's Google access in your Google Account settings and clear site cookies or legacy local progress through your browser settings. Clearing browser data does not delete server-side progress.
Security and updates
Account requests use HTTPS. The course uses server-side session checks, access controls and private storage for configuration and lessons. No online service can guarantee absolute security. This page will be updated if our data practices change; the date above identifies the current version.
